WALKERVILLES BIOGRAPHY

The Walkervilles are a three-piece Canadian rock band, formed in Windsor, Ontario in 2012. Their music takes influence from American jazz & blues, soul, R&B, and the Motown of neighboring Detroit, Michigan. The band takes its name from the historic neighborhood of Walkerville, in the band’s hometown of Windsor. The trio is fronted by Canadian folk rock musician Pat Robitaille, hailed as “a man with a golden voice” by Exclaim! Magazine. Pat has released 4 albums and an EP as a solo artist between 2005 and 2014, and has performed concerts opening for The Beach Boys, Gordon Lightfoot, and the Tragically Hip. Songs by the Walkervilles are written by bassist Mike Hargreaves, former frontman of now-defunct Canadian indie-pop band Michou. Drummer of the Walkervilles Stefan Cvetkovic has worked together with Hargreaves musically since 2005, also drumming in Michou from 2009-2012. The duo are known as the Rose City Soul Brothers. The band’s debut album was recorded live-off-the-floor at historic Mackenzie Hall in Windsor, Ontario, and first released in December 2012 (Meet the Walkervilles: Live at Mackenzie Hall). The band later traveled to Austin, Texas to record at Willie Nelson's studio with producer Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar) and released a six song FACTOR-funded EP in June 2015 titled Soul Brothers. In the spring of 2015, the group recorded in New York City at the Manhattan Center/New Yorker Hotel with Grammy award-winning producer Gordon Williams (Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill) and plan to release a series of singles beginning in the fall of 2015.The band is currently signed to the roster of The Agency Group and performed on a cross-Canada tour opening for celebrated American blues/rock group The Tedeschi Trucks Band in late 2013, followed by performances with legendary bass player Stanley Clarke and Motown star Betty LaVette in New York’s Manhattan Ballroom in early 2014. The band is headed next to the West coast of Canada in September 2015 with stops at Rifflandia Festival (Victoria, BC) the Pacific National Exhibition (Vancouver, BC) and the Axis Mundi Harvest Festival (Revelstoke, BC).
